For months with 31 days, you get four runs with the last gap being 10 days (21st to 31st) then a 1-day gap to the next month's 1st. For shorter months, the pattern adjusts — a 30-day month runs on 1, 11, 21 (three times), a 28-day February runs on 1, 11, 21 (also three times).

This schedule works for periodic but infrequent tasks: bi-monthly data archival, periodic security audits, or generating multi-week trend reports. If you need exactly three times per month on fixed dates, consider 0 0 1,11,21 * * instead.
