The cron expression */5 * * * 1-5 fires every 5 minutes on weekdays — Monday through Friday, all day long (midnight to midnight). This produces 288 executions per weekday (1,440 per week).

This high-frequency weekday schedule is used for production monitoring that doesn't need weekend coverage, real-time data processing during business days, frequent cache invalidation for weekday-only applications, and active queue processing that pauses on weekends.

To limit to business hours only, add an hour range: */5 9-17 * * 1-5 runs every 5 minutes from 9 AM to 5 PM on weekdays. This dramatically reduces executions from 288 to 108 per day.
